Acid Resistant Reactors
Acid resistant reactors for chemical processing and laboratory use are often exposed to highly corrosive acid environments like hot concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and hyrdrochloric acid (HCl). To create acid resistant reactors, Ultramet CPT takes standard batch style reactors and grows a tantalum diffusion surface into and on top of the base material.
The end result is an acid resistant reactor that has the inertness of a glass lining but the strength, durability and thermal conductivity of a metal.

Acid resistant pipe spools of any shape and size are created with the Ultramet CPT technology for hot strong acid applications like sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). Because our technology creates a tantalum diffusion surface on the base pipe spool, the corrosion resistance of tantalum metal is achieved with the strength and availability of the base material (typically steel).
