Ultramet was founded in 1970 with the goal of providing custom high temperature material solutions for the chemical and nuclear industries. Since that time, Ultramet has developed world class capabilities to perform research, develop and manufacture refractory metals, platinum group metals, and ceramics. Specializing in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of advanced materials Ultramet enjoys solving some of the most demanding materials challenges for the aerospace, defense, biomedical, orthopedic and energy industries.

From 1983 to present, Ultramet has actively participated in the Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs with agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and Department of Energy. From work that began with SBIR/STTR support, Ultramet has developed and licensed both technology and products that have led to millions of dollars in commercial investment and ongoing direct sales. In addition, Ultramet has spun-off three companies from programs originally supported with SBIR/STTR funding.

In 2014 continuing to combine Ultramet’s entrepreneurial spirit with advanced materials, Ultramet formed Ultramet CPT. Leveraging +40 years of Ulramet’s vast technical capabilities and engineering knowledge, Ultramet CPT was formed to specifically address the challenges of the corrosion industry. Ultramet CPT focuses on producing the most corrosion resistant surfaces available to eliminate corrosion from high value process equipment.

Ultramet CPT is committed to high quality standards, exceptional customer satisfaction, and continual improvement.
