The strong product development success and tradition of Ultramet are very much a part of Ultramet CPT as we share many of the same people, facilities and knowledge base.
Our collective history goes back to 1983, when Ultramet began to actively participate in the Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs with agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and Department of Energy. From work that began with SBIR/STTR support, Ultramet has developed licensed technology and products that have led to millions of dollars in commercial investment and ongoing direct sales. In addition, Ultramet has spun-off three companies from programs originally supported with SBIR/STTR funding.
Ultramet / Ultramet CPT’s world-class research and development staff covers the fields of materials engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, chemical engineering, ceramic engineering, and mechanical engineering. This multidisciplinary team is supported by complete fabrication, machining, characterization, analysis, and inspection facilities.
