Ultra-Metal – For Corrosion Elimination
For Corrosion Elimination – The most effective surface to eliminate corrosion from strong hot acids like HCl or H2SO4. The surface can be grown from 0.001" (25μm) to several millimeters thick and typically exhibit a nil corrosion rate. Typical substrates include carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, titanium, cobolt/chrome, ceramics, graphite and nickel alloys (see Ultra-Safe).
Ultra-Metal is our go-to product to eliminate acid corrosion and is ideal for strong acid liquid / vapor environments containing HCl, H2SO4, HBr, HI, Acetic Acid, Nitric Acid , Pirahna and other harsh chemicals.
Compared to nickel alloys, the corrosion resistance of Ultra-Metal’s tantalum surface far exceeds that of nickel alloys. The iso-corrosion curves show that the Ultra-Metal’s tantalum surface is orders of magnitude better corrosion resistance than a Hastelloy C nickel alloy. Typically this type of performance is expensive, but with the Ultramet CPT technology this unmatched corrosion performance is available at a cost similar to nickel alloys.
Applications: Process equipment such as Valves, Fittings, Instrumentation, Heat Exchangers and Custom Equipment.
