Acid resistant reactors for chemical processing and laboratory use are often exposed to highly corrosive acid environments like hot concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and hyrdrochloric acid (HCl). To create acid resistant reactors, Ultramet CPT takes standard batch style reactors and grows a tantalum diffusion surface into and on top of the base material.
The end result is an acid resistant reactor that has the inertness of a glass lining but the strength, durability and thermal conductivity of a metal.
