Hi,

My application uses range of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) from 98% to about 10% at temperature less than 200F. Will your tantalum diffusion surfaces be corrosion resistant in that range of conditions?

Thanks for the question,

Tantalum metal is excellent in all concentrations of sulfuric acid up to 99%. Oddly enough at concentration 99% or above, carbon steel could be used, but the moment it dips to 98% or less, H2SO4 will corrode carbon steel quickly.

To better understand tantalum's corrosion resistance to H2SO4 see the following Sulfuric Acid Iso-Corrosion Curve.
