Hello,
My application utilizes a range of H2SO4 from 99% down to 15% at about 120C. I know most materials like Zirconium and Hastelloy generally cannot survive under those various conditions and my understanding is that tantalum should do fine at any concentration below 99%. Could you confirm this and also let me know what kind of thickness would be required.
Thank you Ben

Hello Ben,
Yes, tantalum metal has excellent corrosion resistance for the entire range of H2SO4 up to 99%. Generally speaking tantalum metal will have a nil corrosion rate in sulfuric acid at your conditions so our standard thickness of 0.002" will be sufficient from a corrosive point of view. The thickness could be adjusted depending on the mechanical demands of your application either thicker or thinner. Sometimes tight tolerance parts could utilize our Ultra-Nano product and other abrasive process may require additional thickness.
