Is being a Medical Technologist considered clinical experience?

I'm currently in the application process. However, I want to do something during my gap year. I have Master's Degree in Chemistry, and I definitely want to utilize that. I was thinking of being a medical technologist during my gap year before medical school. (if you don't know what a medical technologist is, look them up. Its usually a position that requires a bachelor's in chemistry, and allows you to move up over time). Is this a good position for clinical experience? Is... Is being a Medical Technologist considered clinical experience?
