Battery acid leaking on PCM ?

hello,

I just bought a '99 convertible. The A/C stopped working and I took it in for service. They just told me that battery acid leaked on the PCM / harness and it's going to cost $6000 to fix it!! I only paid $21,000 and cant afford another 6G's.

Please help.
