Oxalic Acid Wood Prep?

hello,

Anyone any experience using oxalic acid to prep hard wood surfaces to improve the adhesion of the seal coat? If so please share.

In my case I'm interested in using it to prep bamboo (see my other posting) which is very hard, smooth and resistant to absorbsion especially after being kiln dried.
