JensenBreck created the topic: What piping material is suitable for a 30% sodium methylate solution between 10°
Hii...
Sodium methylate (sodium meth-oxide) is usually provided in a solution of methanol. The meth-oxide will react with any water present to form sodium hydroxide. Therefore, any piping material chosen must also be compatible with methanol, water, and sodium hydroxide that might be present. Fortunately, a wide variety of materials are compatible with these chemicals including most stainless steels. Materials to be avoided would be aluminum, carbon steel and cast iron which would react poorly to this very basic environment.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
